The Telangana National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMS 2023) registration process has begun today, October 3. Interested and eligible students can register on the official website at bse.telangana.gov.in. The last date to apply is October 13. The Telangana NMMS 2023 examination for class 8 will be conducted on December 10. The exam will be held on Dec 10 in a single shift from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm in Telugu, Hindi, Urdu, and English languages.
As per the official notice, the last date for submission of the printed copies of online registered Application Forms and NR (two copies) and fee receipts of SBI collected by the Head Masters of the schools concerned in the office of the concerned District Educational Officer. is October 16. The last date for submission of Printed Nominal Rolls attested by the concerned Head Masters, and fee receipts of SBI collected by the concerned DEOs to the O/o the Director of Government Examinations., T.S., Hyderabad is October 18.
“The selected beneficiaries should register and upload their Aadhar-linked bank account particulars in the National Scholarship Portal in the stipulated time by opening the bank accounts in any nationalised bank which has an online clearing system only to get a scholarship of Rs 12000 per year,” read the official notice.
Telangana NMMS 2023: Eligibility criteria
To apply for the scholarship scheme, students belonging to other caste (OC) and backward caste (BC) categories must have scored at least 55 per cent of marks in class 7. While those belonging to SC, and ST categories must have scored a minimum of 50 per cent marks or equivalent in the class 7 examination during the academic year 2022-23.
Telangana NMMS 2023: Application Fees
The OC and BC category students will have to submit an examination fee of Rs 100 while SC, ST, and PH students will have to pay Rs 50.
Telangana NMMS 2023: Exam Pattern
The exam will consist of a Mental Ability Test or MAT featuring 90 marks in multiple-choice questions, and a Scholastic Ability Test, or SAT featuring 90 marks in sciences, mathematics, and social sciences questions of classes 7 and 8. Each question carries one mark. Time is one minute for one question.
The minimum qualifying marks for each paper will be 40 per cent and in the case of SC, and ST students the cut-off will be 32 per cent. Selection will be made as per the merit subject to district-wise and community-wise quota allotted as per norms issued by MHRD New Delhi, states the official notice.
