The first Conjuring movie came out in 2013.

A paranormal investigator claims that his team had visited the real-life haunted house from The Conjuring series to investigate and make a documentary. However, it made him severely ill.

If you have ever come across the horror film genre or if you are even mildly interested in the matter, there is an absolute surety that you must have heard of or watched The Conjuring films. While the film has given jitters to many, its setting, the real-life Conjuring house is quite an eerie place in real life too. Imagine a house that looks like it belongs in a spooky horror movie, with its old, creaky floors and dimly lit rooms. It is the kind of place that sends shivers down your spine just by looking at it. What makes it even more unsettling is the claim that it is home is reportedly the spirit of Bathsheba Sherman, the same spirit featured in the popular horror movie franchise, The Conjuring.

Despite its chilling reputation, the real Conjuring house is not a place that remains isolated. Thousands of tourists and investigators visit it annually, attracted to its haunted yet interesting history.

A few years back, one such curious team, the crew of the TV show Ghost Adventures, led by paranormal investigator Zak Bagans, decided to explore the house. Bagans reportedly had a chilling experience, saying “This place is haunted by something I believe is very ancient” and that being inside made him seriously ill, reports Ladbible.

Bagans and his team were granted rare access to the house, becoming the first to enter there with cameras, in 15 years. They had planned on a multi-day investigation, during which they encountered inexplicable occurrences. Bagans recalled their using infrared binoculars to capture a mysterious black mass that blocked the light from a window, adding to the eerie ambience, according to Ladbible.

He further informs that he had fallen sick severely after the investigation and had lost all his strength to even move and perform his daily tasks. The investigator also issued a warning to anyone considering living in the Conjuring house, saying, “I fear for the family that lives there if it progresses. I know it’s a thrill to buy the house and live there, but they need to be very aware of what they could potentially be dealing with.”

He emphasised that things took a serious and intense turn during their investigation, making it clear that the house is not for the faint of heart.

In fact, even the family that currently owns the house has reportedly chosen not to inhabit it, following the advice of the previous occupant. The family that originally owned the house, which gained fame through The Conjuring films, has long moved on from this unsettling place, informs Ladbible.

Since the release of the first The Conjuring film in 2013, the franchise has expanded with eight films and even a TV series in development. For those brave enough to visit the actual Conjuring house in Rhode Island, tours and events are available, and if you are a dedicated paranormal enthusiast, you can even camp out nearby to see if the same malevolent spirits that affected Bagans will have an impact on you as well.
