Australia Win Toss and Decide to Bowl First Against India in 2nd ODI at Indore

The second T20I between India vs Australia is set to take place as the two sides meet again in Indore at the Holkar Cricket Stadium.

Steve Smith who is the skipper for the Australian side won the toss and chose to bowl first. KL Rahul will continue to be the skipper for the Indian side.

Smith after winning the toss said,” It looks warm and they fancy chasing a total. If there is dew, later on, it will help us chase as well. We have a few changes as we wanted to try out a different combination.”

KL Rahul spoke after the toss, he said, “We would have bowled first as well considering the size of the ground. Looks like a good wicket and will be a good challenge to put runs on the board. We only have one change from the last game. Jasprit is rested, and Prasidh comes in. Good for all our batters to spend some time in the middle.”

Prasidh Krishna will be the replacement for Jasprit Bumrah on the Indian side.

Australia have given an ODI debut to left-arm fast-bowler, Spencer Johnson.

Mitchell Starc still hasn’t made his return to the Australian side as the pacer looks to get some game-time in before the World Cup.

Another surprising change is Pat Cummins who is back on the bench after making his return in the first ODI.

Shubman Gill will be looking to continue the momentum with Ruturaj Gaikwad as the pair managed to stitch a partnership worth almost 150 runs.

Ruturaj Gaikwad has also impressed after scoring 70 odd which will be crucial as the opening batter is also the skipper for India’s Asian Games-bound squad.

Surprisingly Mohammed Siraj is still on the bench as India has opted for Prasidh Krishna who is neither in the Asian Games nor World Cup squads.

The first ball will be bowled at 1:30 PM IST on Friday.

India XI: Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul(w/c), Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Shami, Prasidh Krishna

Australia XI: David Warner, Matthew Short, Steven Smith(c), Marnus Labuschagne, Josh Inglis, Alex Carey(w), Cameron Green, Sean Abbott, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood, Spencer Johnson
