Every year, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the Civil Services Examination (CSE) to appoint the brightest minds to run the bureaucracy, like the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officers. Due to its high standards, very few people are able to crack the exams, despite thousands of candidates appearing for it. There are a few who, despite facing challenges, remain adamant about achieving success. Such is the story of Ankita Jain.
Ankita Jain, a resident of Agra, Uttar Pradesh, achieved a remarkable feat and her story is an inspiration for all the aspirants. In the year 2020, Ankita Jain cracked the UPSC CSE by securing an All India Rank (AIR) 3 which made her family extremely proud of her accomplishment. As per the information, after class 12, she enrolled for a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Computer Science from the prestigious Delhi Technological University (DTU). After her engineering degree, she headed out for a career in the corporate sector. It was while working in her private company job that the turning point in her life came. She realised that she wanted to crack the UPSC examination and become an IAS officer.
Soon, she embarked on a journey filled with challenges, which was met with determination and hard work. Ankita Jain began her preparation and appeared for the exam, but failed on the first attempt. Without losing hope, she doubled up her efforts and worked extra hard with utmost dedication; and on the second attempt, she cracked it. However, she was not satisfied with the rank she scored. She kept appearing for the exam, until on her fourth attempt, she bagged the third rank.
In the same year that Ankita secured the third position, her sister Vaishali Jain secured AIR 21 on her second attempt. Vaishali Jain, like her sister, is a BTech graduate from the same university and was a gold medalist. She pursued an MTech later from the prestigious IIT Delhi and was once again the gold medalist. After this, she began her UPSC preparation.
Ankita Jain is an Indian Audit and Accounts Service officer positioned in Mumbai. She married an IPS officer from Maharashtra named Abhinav Tyagi.
