Asian Games Day 12 Live Updates: After recording their highest-ever medal haul at the Asian Games, the Indian contingent will hope to cross the coveted 100 medal mark in the remaining four days of the Hangzhou spectacle. India added 12 medals to their tally on Day 11, and thus they have 81 medals, including 18 gold, the highest the country has ever won. Neeraj Chopra, Kishore Jena, Avinash Sable, Harmilan Bains, and Lovlina Borgohain all added to India’s medal tally on Wednesday and there is plenty more action expected on Day 12, October 5.
After an impressive few days, the Indian archery unit will look to add more glory as six Indian athletes will be in action in archery events, followed by the crunch Men’s marathon final in athletics, featuring Belliappa Appachangada Bo & Man Singh.
The likes of PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy will be hoping to confirm their medals as they face crunch quarterfinal fixtures, while the top-ranked Indian duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will also be in action looking to for glory.
There is plenty of action lined up in Bridge, with five Indian athletes set to take centre stage and the Indian men’s and women’s chess teams will be in round 7 action.
The Indian women’s hockey team will face a crunch semifinal fixture against China for a place in the final. Ju-Jitsu events will commence from Thursday onwards, and the Indian women’s and men’s Kabaddi teams will also be in action.
Roller Skating, Sepaktakraw, Soft Tennis and Sport Climbing events will also take place on Day 12.
The Indian mixed doubles squash duo of Harinder & Dipika Pallikal will face the Malaysian duo in the final. Saurav Ghosal will face Malaysia’s Eain Yow in the men’s singles final.
Last but not the least, five Indian wrestlers will also be in action looking to add more medals to India’s kitty.
